Man Attempts to Rob Bank of $1

In Northern Cambria, PA, Jeffrey McMullen attempted to rob an AmeriServ bank of the whopping amount of....ONE DOLLAR!  He was a regular customer and handed two tellers a note demanding just $1.  At first they thought he was joking because well, he was only asking for a dollar, but then he spoke with a new accounts rep and repeated his demands.  Apparently, he wanted to be prosecuted federally and sent to a prison in central Pennsylvania. He even wrote his preference on one of his notes.

LOL!

Well, obviously his bank robbery wasn't for financial gain.  And if he's a regular patron of that bank then he clearly has a bank account there.  So his actions only lead me to believe that he is purposely wanting to go to prison.  A specific prison at that.  Maybe he has a kid or family member in that prison and misses them so much that he would rather be there with them than where he is now.  Who knows.

What could be so bad in your life that you would much rather be in prison than free?  Makes no sense if you ask me.

If you are that desperate to go to prison, at least make it worth it.  A dollar makes you a cheap criminal...literally!
