Idiot of the Month: Fake 911 Call to Get Out of a Ticket

In Florida, a man was pulled over for speeding.  While the officer ran his information, the guy called 9-1-1 to report a shooting nearby to get out of the ticket because he was driving on a suspended license.  The officer let the guy go so the officer could go to the scene.  Once he found out there was no shooting he decided to call the phone number that reported the shooting.  He got the speeder's voicemail and eventually arrested him for making a fake 911 call.

Let's see...speeding ticket would have been $200-$300 and then driving on a suspended license would have been another fine and possibly a towed car but now he has an even bigger fine, had to go to jail, and now has to go to court.  Was it really worth it?  A few hundred bucks or jail time?  C'mon man!  Suck it up and take the ticket like the rest of us.

It amazes me to hear what people do to get out of tickets.  It's always nice when you do get out of it but when you don't, oh well.  And calling 911?  Do people not realize the phone number you are calling from shows up for the dispatcher?  He definitely didn't think that one through.  Haha.

Gotta love idiots, they give us a good laugh.

Lowlife Thugs Aren't Fans

Just because you wear the gear, it doesn't make you a fan...The way you act makes you either a fan or a lowlife.

In case you haven't heard, on opening day in LA for the Dodgers, two thugs decided it would be cool to beat down a Giants fan after the game.  This poor guy, Brian Stow, was minding his own business walking to his car.  They hit him from behind, knocking him to the ground which made him hit his head and knocking him unconscious.  They continued to hit and kick him while he was unconscious until one of the thugs baby mamas pulled up in the getaway car, which had a kid in it as well, and they took off.  The Giants fan is now in a medically induced coma because he has severe brain swelling.  He suffered a skull fracture and bruising to his frontal lobe.  Doctors had to cut off part of his skull to help with the pressure.  He also may suffer brain damage and may never be the same person again.

The reward being offered for information leading to the arrests of these lowlife thugs has skyrocketed to $150,000 because of all the support coming in from Los Angeles and San Francisco.  If you witnessed it or know who these wannabe gangsters are, please call the LAPD.

As a Dodger fan, I'm personally disgusted.  It makes me ashamed to be a Dodger fan.  These losers ^ are NOT true Dodger fans.  True Dodger fans have sportsmanship and have fun at games without being threatening or violent.  Even when drunk, true fans don't make others uncomfortable or make the environment unsafe to be in.  I've been to games at Dodger Stadium and even as a Dodger fan I don't feel safe.  There are people constantly harassing, heckling, shouting profanities, and throwing food at others.  Not to mention the fighting in the stands as well.  Dodger fans fight with each other!  I went to a Giants v. Dodgers game in LA with my boyfriend, who is a Giants fan, and I told him that I didn't want him to wear any of his Giants stuff.  I was concerned for his safety because I know how these thugs act towards the opposing team's fans, especially Giants fans.  I've seen guys even go after women.  I haven't seen any guys trying to fight a woman yet but I have witnessed female fans of other teams have stuff thrown at them THE WHOLE GAME along with the harassing and name calling.  It's just not fun anymore.  I liked going to games but I would rather pay attention to the game than listen to people being degraded just because of who they are rooting for.

Baseball is supposed to be America's past time and a family event.  I feel bad for the people who bring their kids because they subject them to all the cursing and inappropriate behavior.  When I have kids I want to be able to bring my kids to sporting events, including baseball games.  But unless fans start cleaning up their act, it will only get worse.

I do like that LA is taking the initiative to prevent this unspeakable act from happening again and I do like all the policies they plan to instill.  My favorite is that season ticket holders will lose their seats/tickets if they cause trouble because why should they deserve to continue going to games if they are going to take away the sportsmanship of the game?  Like I said, people who act that way are NOT Dodger fans.  They aren't fans of any team that they pretend to root for.  This doesn't just happen in Los Angeles; it can and does happen in other cities.  Unfortunately, no matter how much security and police they have out in full force, there will be some idiot who will slip through the cracks.  Hopefully, they won't do as much damage as these thugs above.

Anyone can buy clothes, hats, and other gear of a team and wear it.  Anyone can say they are a fan and anyone can root for a team.  But unless you act like a fan should act, you are nothing but a thug in gang clothing.  CLEAN UP YOUR ACT PEOPLE!!  Lets bring the fun back to a day at the ballpark.
